More of a 3-star hotel?

We were met in the lobby by friendly staff that did a good job. A swimmingpool, small for children basically, was situated in the basement and provided an odeur of clorine in the lobby area(?) The rooms had separated the toilet from the remaining bathroom. The floor was freezing cold(!) and there where no hotel-slippers available in the rooms. The bathroom did not have a proper door, only a swing-mirror-door. This caused a lot of bathroom noise in the bedroom (you could’t sleep through that noise). The breakfast area was a bit noisy. They fried a lot of eggs and simply put them on a tray. Consequently hey were served cold. The bacon was too thick and tasted like rubber(?). There were other things to eat and the buffet was for the rest generally OK. On the plus side: The hotel is situated very sentral in the old town in a quiet area. The staff was friendly and helpful.

While the hotel is beautiful and arguably mid range modern and nice, we had issues with our room which resulted in a very poor night with little sleep. We raised the issues and lack of sleep with reception who simply thanked us for reporting it with no other offer of remediation. Wasn't impressed and wouldn't go back.

Great family trip to Edinburgh

We stayed as a family over the Easter break. It’s in a great location in the old part of the city walkable to the National Museum, the castle and Grassmarket. Wonderful breakfast available with loads of options. Great pool which the children enjoyed. Food in the restaurant was nice, varied and well priced. We were glad of the easy access on two evenings when we didn’t want to go out. Our flight was cancelled on the Saturday evening and we needed to stay for two extra nights and they accommodated us and relieved a lot of stress which we were very grateful for. Many thanks to Enrico for his help. Would happily recommend this hotel which was one of the more affordable options in Edinburgh.

Great location for a weekend away, local to train Station and castle, pubs and walks would revisit, great staff very friendly could not do enough for you, very quiet never heard a noise, rooms very clean and all staff were friendly and couldn't do anymore for you

What was a wonderful few days at the Novotel Edinburgh Centre could’ve turned out to be a disaster as we checked out and left some really important documents in our room. We were miles away in London when we rang the hotel and were assured that our items would be secured. Special thanks to the staff, especially Front Desk Manager Neli Stoyanova, who secured and mailed our items to us right in time. Many thanks!
